Hi. I'm Pat from "Learn With Pat" fame. Well, "fame" might be a little too strong a term. I mean, I'm not Frank Kern here. I'm just an ordinary guy who determined to figure out how to use leverage and scaling to build his own digital empire.
Of course, in the beginning, I didn't even know what I was looking for. It wasn't that I actually set out on a journey to discover "leverage" and "scaling." I didn't even know those terms. What I DID know was that entertainers....who were probably no more intelligent than me...were earning hordes of cash and seemed to have an inordinate amount of time to enjoy the fruits of their labors.
What I learned was insightful.
You can learn too.
In fact, I have developed a free course to help young (and even not-so-young) people learn in 39 days what it took me almost six decades of my life to figure out. Other so-called "gurus" sell this insider information for upwards of $5,000.
Now, if I were you the first thing that would be going through my head is, "What's the catch. Why would this guy give me all this great information for free if it's worth so much. What's in it for him?"
So, let's just clear that up right now.
First off, I was a kid who grew up in a row of tenement houses in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Have you ever watched the movie, "Good Will Hunting"? That is reminiscent of my neighborhood. I was an anomaly. Not a genius like Will, but my mom instilled in me a love for reading which expanded my horizons, and caused me to want to advance out of the subsistence living of that era.
My dad told me early on that he couldn't pay for it if I wanted to go to college, and that I'd need to work, save money, and do well in school to get scholarships.
Long story short, I went to the University of Rhode Island for a year, then traveled the country by bicycle, then joined the U.S. Navy for six years, lived in Europe for two years, and returned to the U.S. and became the business manager for a not-for-profit for 17 years.
I've always had a desire to help people. And one of the ways I help people today is by teaching them how to change their mindset from an employee to a business owner. You know, on my own journey of entrepreneurship I've had many moments when I said, "Wow. I wish I'd known this when I was 18 years old!"
So, this is my way of giving back.
It's my hope that my course, or my blog ramblings here, or an e-book, or something I do or say inspires some kid living in a tenement or project somewhere to think, "Hey, you know what, I could do this..."
And instead of that kid wasting 40 years working for the bare minimum his boss can get away with paying him, instead of sacrificing time with his family on the altar of career, instead of struggling from paycheck to paycheck, maybe he can create an adequate income--maybe even an incredible income--that would allow him to spend more time to devote to his family and those interests and causes that he is passionate about.
Perhaps someone will learn business principles early on in his or her life that will free them up to live a fulfilling, meaningful, abundant life. As Maslow might say, to live a "self-actualized" life.
You know, these principles aren't just for kids from rich families who attend Harvard....
Oh, and what's in it for me? Well, if you find my course beneficial, I hope that you will purchase the inexpensive tools you need through my affiliate links.
